Connect PC to Content Policy
Install an app or configure network settings to connect a Windows computer to your Content Policy.
We highly recommend using the Installation wizard we provide in your Tech Lockdown account dashboard. It will walk you through the installation process.
You can use this tutorial for additional reference.
WARP Client
The first step is to download the WARP client on for Windows. On Cloudflare’s page, click the download button.
Install the Cloudflare WARP client for Windows
You will then need to run the downloaded file. Follow the installation steps provided by the installer. The installer should be called “Cloudflare_WARP”.
Run the installer on your Windows machine. The WARP client should open automatically after the installation completes.
Login to Zero Trust
In the client, click on the gear icon. Go to Preferences.
Login to Zero Trust by navigating to Account > Login with Cloudflare Zero Trust.
You will need to enter your Team name in order for your device to connect to Zero Trust. When you linked your Cloudflare account, this was the Team name you chose.
Enter the Email address of the Member you want to sign in onto the device as.
You will receive a confirmation pin sent to the Member’s email. Enter this pin.
Activate Zero Trust.
That’s it! You are now able to Manage your Cloudflare Policies in the dashboard.
Prevent Bypass
After you've successfully connected your windows machine to your DNS Content Policy, the next step is to prevent bypassing your restrictions.
Windows devices have several different options to consider:
- Use the Windows Registry to prevent certain settings from being enabled.
- Install a third-party blocking application that can deny access to sensitive apps and programs.
- Add backup filtering to your Windows device. This backup will allow your connection to still be filtered, even if the WARP client is disabled for a prolonged period of time.
We go into more detail about how to prevent bypass on windows in it's own dedicated guide.

After you've connected your Windows device to your Content Policy, the next step is to enforce that connection.
Manual Config
You can customize the network settings on your windows computer to point to your Content Policy. You can use this approach instead of connecting via the app or you can use it in combination with the app. We recommend connecting with both approaches so that if the app fails to connect, it will fall through to the device’s network settings.
Associate an IP address
It's important not to skip this step. Even if you don't plan to connect your home's Wi-Fi to your DNS Content Policy, you must associate an IPv4 address to get the unique connection information for your account.
If you've not connected a router to your Content Policy yet, you will need to create a network first.

Get Connection Information
Your account will have unique addresses that can be used to point the network settings on your device directly to your content policy.
You can find this information under Content Policy > Connect Devices > Config.
